SPN. Starve the fucking ego and feed your soul.

The joke is on you.

Learn to starve the fucking ego and feed your soul.

ENG. Starve the fucking ego and feed your soul

Frozen water covers the roof of your temple. Water that refuses to move, mocking entropy and telling time that she couldn't care less about its minutes. Growing prouder of herself with every passing day, the frozen water remained still, knowing that one day the sun would rise and set her free to flow again, to do what she does best: bring life to everything around her.
A fire. The warmth of that spark you suddenly rediscover. A loving message from someone you haven't seen in ages, telling you that you inspire them. Because they see how you're shedding everything that no longer belongs, how you're cutting away the scraps of what you imagine your reality could be. And somehow, those pieces begin sewing themselves together when there's nothing left between them to keep them apart. When you're so deeply connected to your own spirit that looking up at the sky no longer requires reminding yourself to release your tongue from the roof of your mouth or to stop furrowing your brow. Because looking up feels natural again. Whether there are clouds, a perfectly clear sky, or the orange shades of a sunset that, now that winter is here, always seems to be in such a hurry.
A long time ago, I took my belongings out into the cold, shook off the dust, and gathered everything that was mine. And now, at last, I've packed it all up and unfolded it into a space that would have been incompatible with my former reality. Sometimes I feel I've been given so many opportunities to start over. And that's true. But having the chance to begin again doesn't mean that every possible life can exist at once. Some realities, in order to be born, require others to cease to exist. This magic, these walls, this version of who I am here, none of it could ever have existed with him. I wouldn't have been able to listen to the birds singing in the mornings. But God, how wonderful it is that there are no more screams. I wouldn't have been able to paint my kitchen that outrageously bold Cilantro Lime, which, compared to the Ballerina Tutu pink in my bathroom, almost looks understated. The mandarin tree would never have blossomed. Kobe would have remained afraid. And you would have kept making me believe I was so small that the only place I could fit was inside your armor. When, brother, if only you knew that not even the wind gets to tell these wings where to fly.
A fire. The warmth of a spark that I know, now that it's been reignited, will never die again. Because somewhere inside me, there's an infinite factory of resources. And now I know it. Especially after finally understanding how important it is to live from the inside out, rather than the other way around. To let who I am shape the world around me, instead of allowing the world, or anyone in it, to decide who I'm supposed to be.
How did I give you so much of myself that I ended up not recognizing who I was? How can you live knowing what you've done to me? But that's the thing: what we do follows us. What we've done stays with us. Even when we change homes, shed our skin, or begin entirely new lives. The joke is on you. Because if I now spend hours admiring myself in every mirror I can possibly find for my home, I wish you knew how many more hours I spend trying to cultivate the best version of myself. For me. For myself. For others. For now and for everything that comes after. And this time, everything that grows will be mine.
Because now, the water is finally flowing. And you know what? You gave me the gift of breaking me. Of leaving cracks so deep that the frozen water finally found somewhere to escape. And now that the ice is melting, that the water is pouring through, that the pressure is being released, let it explode. Let it burst through the walls of the temple I spent so long mistaking for a sanctuary. Because those cracks will never truly disappear. They'll become scars. And every single one will remind me of something I will never allow to happen again. Which should be obvious, shouldn't it? Who would ever choose to lose themselves just to have to find their way back, this time covered in wounds? Who would choose to learn how to rise only because there was nowhere left to fall? Who would want the reason for their ascent to be nothing more than having hit rock bottom? But we're not there anymore.
Now I fly, darling.
And you can keep searching for peace in every one of the thousand waves you ride. You can paddle until you're breathless, chase the horizon, stand up on your board over and over again, and convince yourself that this time, finally, you've learned how to master the ocean. But you'll keep falling as long as you mistake standing upright for being in control. Because the ocean you're so desperate to conquer possesses every ounce of certainty you lack. It doesn't need to prove its strength or invent an identity to earn respect. It doesn't need to lie about what it is or pressure anyone into believing its waters are something other than what lies before their eyes. The ocean tells the truth even when it breaks. It doesn't apologize for its depth. It doesn't negotiate with the wind to appear calmer. It doesn't promise one thing while doing another. And above all, it never stops out of fear of its own power.
You, who tried so hard to convince me that reality was something else. That I should distrust my eyes, my feelings, my own understanding of the world. Turns out your moral standards were the greatest lie of all. A bar you demanded everyone else clear, while never managing to reach it yourself. Rules you wore like armor to protect an ego too small to carry the weight of its own contradictions. And how ironic, that you tried to make me smaller just so I could fit inside something so insignificant. But I no longer have to make myself small. I no longer have to freeze to survive. I no longer have to mistake stillness for peace. Now I am the water that flows, the fire that burns, and the wings that never ask for permission. And while you keep waiting for the wave that will finally teach you who you are, I no longer need an ocean to hold me up.
Starve the fucking ego and feed your soul.

The Roots of This House

I look around and see color scattered across the floors and walls, small flashes defying the green that dominates my home. Pink, yellow, orange, green. They shift constantly, changing with the light and turning the rooms into something almost dreamlike. And the strange thing is that, if I close my eyes, I feel exactly the same way inside. There is something beautiful about watching my surroundings glow in a way that somehow resembles the way my spirit is glowing now.

The last time I propagated my plants, there were already more than fifty of them in the house. Every time I cut a leaf, refill the fertilizer, mist them with water, give them light, or water them carefully, something happens quietly beneath the soil. The roots move forward. They divide, search for space, hold on to whatever they find. I wonder how many miles of roots there are inside this house. I like the thought of being surrounded by all that invisible life, of knowing that while I am busy doing other things, something is slowly growing beneath every pot. In a way, caring for plants means helping life make its way forward while becoming a spectator to time.

And yet, while I help so many things put down roots, there is still a part of me that does not want to grow any of my own. Although another part already has. It is the part that recognizes the San Diego air the moment the airport doors open and thinks: I’m home. The part that watches the ground rise toward the plane during descent and feels something close to relief. But there is another part of me too, the one that wants adventure, that imagines moving to the Carolinas with Kobe and learning to play the ukulele simply because I can. I suppose I am learning not to force either of them to win.

I am finding a beautiful kind of balance inside this pace that many people would probably call unhealthy. This insane rhythm of wanting to devour months as though they were minutes, of drinking down light-years with the same urgency with which I have lately been drinking in experiences. Maybe it is not really about choosing between putting down roots and continuing to move. Maybe some roots are not there to keep you still, but simply to remind you where you are growing from.

Has entrenado paciencia, resiliencia, conciencia.
Has sobrevivido a cosas que antes parecían imposibles.

Faith vs Fear delusion

I remembered something my yoga teacher said today:
faith and fear are built on the same foundation,
the future.
Neither has proof.
Neither has guarantees.
Both are stories we tell ourselves
about what has not happened yet.

Fear rehearses catastrophes.
It spends energy on scenes that never asked to be written.
It trains the nervous system to suffer in advance,
as if pain deserved interest before it even exists.
Being delusional about fear is exhausting,
because it asks you to carry weight for miles
without knowing if the road will ever rise.

Faith, on the other hand, is a different kind of leap.
It doesn’t deny effort, discipline, or uncertainty.
It simply chooses to believe that movement matters.
That consistency leaves traces.
That showing up changes the outcome,
even when the timeline is unclear.

If both faith and fear are guesses,
why not be daring with faith?
Why not assume that things can align,
that your work is not wasted,
that goals recognize effort the way soil recognizes water.

Faith says: you are not empty-handed.
You carry tools you’ve been sharpening quietly.
You’ve trained patience, resilience, awareness.
You’ve survived things you once thought you couldn’t.
So when challenges arrive,
not if, but when,
you will meet them standing, not scrambling.

Fear imagines futures where you are smaller.
Faith imagines futures where you are ready.

And readiness doesn’t mean control.
It means trust in your capacity to respond.
Trust that you are becoming someone
who can hold both joy and difficulty without breaking.

So if delusion is inevitable,
let it be generous.
Let it believe that life meets effort halfway,
that you are enough for what’s coming,
and that whatever unfolds,
you will know how to face it
because you have been training all along.

I send kisses to the sky.

I send kisses to the sky.

To those I can no longer see, without any specific sense of time; only that they’re no longer on my path.

I send kisses to the sky, definitely, to the versions I once loved of those who hurt me. Because unilateral forgiveness works when what you need is to let go.

I send kisses to the sky for those I loved and who loved me. Because the past can be ignored, but not erased. And because if I did anything for you, even if it was just loving you for a moment, it’s worth sending you those kisses. Under the premise that I did it out of love, you owe me nothing.

I also send kisses to the sky to myself, perhaps more than to anyone else. To the version of me who lacked hugs. To the one who today is in a pit, a dark one I’ll climb out of in a couple of days, but that right now swallows me the way an abyss devours light.

I send kisses to the sky for that time when my voice wouldn’t come out, when I spent weeks without singing, distant from everything that makes me who I am. I send kisses to my tattoos, to the hours studying in Madrid, to every word that, in the form of literature, has brought me happiness and pride. I send kisses to the kilos that left, the ones that made me unhappy but were also part of who I was. I send kisses to the sky so they can illuminate this professional moment that fills me every day.

I send kisses to the sky,
because I have been a daughter, a sister, a friend, a partner. I send you kisses to the sky so that you find them and they fall on you like the rain of a late spring, and so you can rediscover your most beautiful versions. Because moments of doubt hurt deeply, but your strong side is much greater.

I definitely send kisses to the sky because this year I learned that a prayer can be a hope, or a request for help. Because living from the inside out has been the second hardest lesson to learn. Because I have built my life over the last six years with “For Rent” signs, a passport, and the best four-legged friend I’ve ever had.

Finally, I send kisses to the sky for you. Even if you’re far away and I don’t know you. Because in this infinite power we have today to reach every corner of the world through the internet, if a bit of my humanity can reach you through cables and waves, I hope you understand that this human experience of pain happens. And that it moves in cycles.
I send a kiss to the sky for the cycles.

Definitivamente, mando besos al cielo porque este año he aprendido que a prayer can be a hope, or a request for help.

Aunque estés lejos y no te conozca.

Do it for yourself

I feel as if I am giving proof of innocence,

when no one ever cast you as the executioner.

As if, instead of making small repairs at home,
it were you who destroyed it
and then asked me to rebuild it,
claiming the house must be maintained.

At what moment did being become the same as serving?
How can it be that the pressure for you to provide
is what leaves me in a place of lack?

Prisoner of panic,

last bullet,

fear undone,

the quickest one to fall.

A house where I froze,
where I struck myself on the nails
that little by little had come loose from the roof,
rusted hinges,
pain in my chest.

The light in another home,
so warm and welcoming
that its few meters expand my spirit.

Nothing to fix and everything to celebrate:
art, friendship,
the purple horizon with a sky
that tastes of cotton candy for the very first time.

Without falling,
without noise,
yet with so much sound in what I once called percussion:
the drum.
The sharpened tone of my voice
now embraces and says:
“Do it for yourself.”

Only,
“do it for yourself.”

Tan solo,
“hazlo por ti”.

¿Y si me marcho?

¿Y si me voy?
¿Y si, por fin, me miro de frente
y dejo de encorvarme ante sus castigos
solo para que él se sienta mejor?

¿Y si me marcho,
si tomo el micrófono
y cumplo mi promesa
de no dejar que me oprima más?

¿Y si dejo de esperar
que su mano me marque otra vez,
creyendo, tonta de mí,
que será la última
vez que escuche tanto odio
brotar de su boca?

¿Y si me marcho?

¿Y si releo
aquellos "no negociables"

¿He elegido su senda?
la de sus insultos,
sus malas caras,
sus culpas que me lanza como piedras,
su falta de empatía,
sus normas tan rígidas
que un suspiro distinto
se vuelve traición…

¿Y si me marcho?

Tal vez…
ya lo estoy haciendo.

Más de 10 segundos | More than 10 seconds

Hold my gaze for more than 10 seconds.
I must be the daughter of some Levante wind.
Maybe that's why I don't get lost in their punishments.
Because I know exactly who I am, in every stage, with my flaws and my virtues.
Because I won’t let you reduce me to the bridges you choose to burn.

There is one constant: I am always trusted,
And I never disappoint.
And when I do, I ask for forgiveness.
With open arms to embrace fools,
Ears that listen to what the mute have to say,
And a mouth filled with nothing but sincere words.

Tell me, where are you right now?
What made you happy today?
What gave you goosebumps?

And my lucky charm—like a true daughter of the wind—is nothing more than a compass
With its cardinal points slightly out of place.
But even better,
Let them dance.
Let them shift;

and let them hold my gaze for more than 10 seconds.
